Yet another pair of "Phenomenon", and then again... I have made so many alterations to this pattern, that I'm not sure that it really is a pair of "Phenomenon".
I must have made at least 50 pairs of these mittens over time with all the frogging and alterations.
I adapted the pattern to a larger size - I have medium/large hands and a extremely tight gauge, so the original did not fit me. To create a better fit, I inserted a wedge between the front and the palm after the thumb.
I also wanted a line of knit-stitches to separate the palm of the hand and the thumb-gusset.
The cross stitching that "embrace" the horseshoe-cable, is normally surrounded by a purl rib on each side - I changed the 'outer-one' to be a knit-stitch to make a sort of contour-line.
And what more... oh yes... made fewer decreases on the cuff, because I wanted the decrease to be on the same row as the cable-stitches.
And to make all of these changes fit the pattern I made some other minor alterations, eg. the number of cast-on stitches.
